Salvatore Ferrara

School Director

Salvatore Ferrara has over 35 years of knowledge and experience in the electrical industry. He has instructed Local Union # 3 Apprenticeship Program 1998-2001; and is currently licensed to teach CEU renewal courses for Master Electricians in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida; and is a provider of CEU's for NABCEP, building officials, and Home Inspectors in NYS. He currently serves on Code Panel #2 for the NYC Electrical Code. Salvatore Ferrara has testified as an expert witness in the field of electricity for Con Edison and several other law firms. Presently, he is the owner and Director of the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center located in Copiague, NY, which provides education for individuals just starting their career, or seeking to improve their skills, in the electrical, HVAC/R, and photovoltaic industries. He is a member of the following organizations: IAEI, IBEW, NFPA, LISEIA, USGBC-LI, PSEG Trade Ally, NEL, SCECA, LIAA, NYFAA, MACC, NARI and sits on the advisory board for Eastern BOCES and Nassau Barry Tech electrical program. He is on the board of directors for multiple organizations such as NYC chapter of electrical inspectors, Suffolk County Workforce Investment Board; and Habitat For Humanity; as well as a member of the Chamber of Commerce for Copiague. He is also the chairman of education for The International Association of Electrical Inspectors NYC chapter.

Lisa Ferrara

Finance Director

My name is Lisa Ferrara.  I am married to Salvatore Ferrara.  Sal and I became part of the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center in 2003.  I am a mother of two children, Danielle and Salvatore, which is my proudest accomplishment in my life.

Before becoming a wife and mom, I graduated high school and went directly to work.  I worked for 2 law firms as an assistant para-legal.   I did EBT’s and Dictaphone work.  Took a lot of shorthand and researched cases for the attorney’s I worked for.  I truly loved working in these law firms.

I got married in 1987 and in 1989 had my first child.  I decided to be a stay at home mom at that point.  Had my second child in 1991.  In 1996 bought a house in Long Island.  Started working again.  Babysat for a little girl until she started kindergarten.

Started working in Hauppauge Middle School in the Administrative area.

My husband Sal partnered with Scott Cohen for the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center  I was asked to help with administrative duties.  I left my job at Hauppauge Middle School and became part of the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center. My position deals mainly with the receipt and expenditure of the company’s funds, cash receipts, cash disbursements and reconciliations.  I am the liaison with the outside accountant and auditors.  I manage the office with the Director, Assistant Director and the Bursar if not present.  I enjoy my job and have watched the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center grow with the assistance of a wonderful staff.  


Robert McLaughlin

Assistant Director

Robert McLaughlin joined the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center in 2009. He began his career at the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center as an electrical trade instructor and continued until 2013 when he became Assistant Director. As the Assistant Director, Robert is responsible for assisting the Director in day to day operations, supervising all our instructors, coordinating instructor’s schedules, school job fairs, scheduling of guest speakers, and assisting our students.

Robert is a graduate of William Flyod High School in Mastic Beach, NY and currently holds a Master Electrician License for Suffolk County as well as certificates for OSHA 10, 2008 Code Changes, NFPA safety seminar and Levitron lighting energy conservation. Robert also volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together Nassau and Suffolk.

Aside from being our Assistant Director, Robert is the owner of an electrical contracting company in Suffolk County specializing in residential and commercial wiring.


Barbara Deacon

Office Manager / Director of Registrar

Barbara Deacon joined the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center in July of 2009. Barbara came from the Career Institute of Health and Technology, she was employed there for 12 years. During her time with this company, she managed the Front Desk, Student Services, Placement, Internship Coordinator, Document Manager, and the Director of Registrar.

Barbara is currently the Office Manager, Human Resource Coordinator, and the Director of Registrar. She can assist students with their attendance records, academic records, transferring of classes, tuition and fees, and payments.

Barbara has two beautiful children, her son Anthony attended and graduated from the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center and is he currently employed with Cal Tech Electrical a Local 25 shop. Her daughter, MacKaylah is a College Student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Barbara’s children are her world.


Salvatore M. Ferrara

Assistant Director/Finance Director/Compliance Director 

Salvatore M. Ferrara began working at the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center in September 2009. He has worked in many positions at the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center starting as an Administrative Assistant to being promoted to Assistant Director at the beginning of this year. Salvatore M. Ferrara graduated from Stony Brook University Summa Cum Laude in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He believes hard work regardless of which occupation you are in, is the key to success. His focus is making sure students are given the resources to succeed every day. In addition, he focuses on compliance and ensuring the school is of top quality. He is an avid New York Islander and New York Fan. He is the son of Salvatore and Lisa Ferrara.

Chris Cerqueira

Director of Marketing & 
Career Services



Chris Cerqueira is a graduate of The New York Institute of Technology receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Computer Graphics. After graduation, Chris started working with the CEO and Inventor of 3-D Vision, Inc. to assist in the development of new 3-D Print & Video technologies for the Company at its inception in 2000. He co-developed various processes used in lenticular printing with the CEO. Chris has designed artwork and supervised the production of major advertising campaigns for the Company.  He worked extensively on lenticular materials and processing research and development over the past 10 years, assisting with development of the Company's products. In July 2011, Chris made a transition and worked for Slomin’s. At Slomin’s he was responsible for generating interest and selling home security systems, home heating oil and heating equipment in challenging conditions.

In January 2013, Chris was welcomed to The Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center as the Student Services/Marketing Coordinator. Chris is responsible for coordinating the execution of email broadcast campaigns, public relations, marketing trade shows and events, outbound calls, media advertisements, field promotions, customer communications, and other marketing plans. Working directly with our Director & Assistant Directors of the school to increase enrollment, Chris has developed various marketing materials such as our school website, standardized sales scripts, trade show presentations, brochures and newsletters – he has personally supervised production and implementation marketing materials. After the completion of our Electrical or HVAC/R program our students are referred to Chris for placement with companies in their field of study.

Kimberly Rastelli

Director of Admissions



Kimberly Rastelli started working for the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center, in 2004. Kimberly was one of the first employees of the Electrical Training Center when the school was located on Wellwood Avenue, in Lindenhurst with one classroom. Kimberly, wore many hats in the first few years, as ETC was starting out and growing.  Since Kimberly, has a heart for helping others, as well as a strong administrative background, she excelled working in a school environment, especially when it came to the students.

At the same time Kimberly was working for EHTC, she was offered an opportunity to help woman in prison. Kimberly, ran a program for four years at the Nassau County Correctional Facility for Woman, where her life was forever changed. In 2009, Kimberly took a hiatus from the Electrical Training Center and went back to school to finish her degree. As well as, being a hands-on single mother to her amazing son, Sean Patrick. Kimberly did complete her BA in Psychology and Addictions, as well as being a CASAC-T and an addictions counselor for years.

After taking the time, to complete her education and find her purpose in life, Kimberly, was blessed to come back to work for the Electrical Training Center in January of 2014. Kimberly, is currently the Director of Admissions and part of a great team here at the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center. We are not just an educational facility, we are in the business of changing lives! 

Kallie Sheehan

Financial Aid Director

Kallie joined the ETC team as the Financial Aid Representative in July of 2016 and was promoted to Financial Aid Director in December of 2020. From helping students fill out the FAFSA to educating them on repaying loans, Kallie assists with every step of the financial aid process. Kallie graduated from SUNY Delhi in 2011 with an Associates in Applied Sciences and continued her education at SUNY Oneonta where she graduated with a Bachelors in Mathematics in 2013. 

Before working at ETC, Kallie worked for Capital One as a teller. She has been working in customer service since 2006 and is very passionate about getting to know people and being able to help them in any way she can. She now spends her days at ETC helping students on their way to success and couldn’t be happier. In her free time, Kallie spends her days hanging out with her family, friends, and her two dogs.


Xavier Arthur

Instructor Supervisor 

I, Xavier Arthur joined the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center Inc in 2018.
My career at the Electrical Training Center began as an electrical instructor and continued until 2023 when I became the Instructor Supervisor. As the instructor supervisor, my responsibilities are assisting the Assistant Director in day to day operations, supervising all our instructors, coordinating instructor’s schedules, help to maintain all labs and materials for the HVACR and electrical programs. I also work to improve and develop the curriculum.

I graduated from Queens College, and worked as a electrical journeyman for over seven years.
I worked as an electrical instructor for eight years and lead the electrical instructors for three years.
I also volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together Nassau and Suffolk county.

My experience in the electrical industry started with residential homes, boilers, hot and cold water systems and zone valves installations. As an electrician my main responsibilities working with contractors were installing electrical hot water tanks, testing ignition systems on boilers, roughing in, trimming out and troubleshooting residential and commercial systems and service panels.

Laurette Garces 

Administrative Assistant

Laurette joined the Electrical & HVAC/R Training Center in January 2020 as the daytime receptionist and administrative assistant. Laurette is always happy to take phone calls for the entire staff and transfer them accordingly. She also speaks with prospective students and will enroll them in any available seminars and courses.
Laurette has brought with her many years of customer service interaction and is always willing to pitch in, lend a hand, and think outside the box to get the job done.

Erin Campbell

Registrar Assistant

Erin Campbell joined the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center in August of 2020. Erin graduated from Holy Trinity High School in June of 2002. Before working at ETC, she came from a staffing agency, National Recruiting Group, where she was employed for 14 years. During her time with this company she worked multiple rolls. She had worked at the Front Desk where she greeted people and helped them with the application process so they could be placed, as an HR Assistant where she would assist the HR Manager with daily tasks and compliance matters, as a Recruiter where she would find the candidate positions and as Accounts Payable where she would process invoices, cut checks and assist with payroll when needed. Erin has been in the Customer Service filed since 2001.
Here at the ETC, Erin started out as the Assistant to the Assistant Director and was then promoted to the Registrar Assistant, which is the position that she currently holds. She assists the students with their attendance records, academic records, transferring of classes, tuition, payments and processes graduation. Erin is very friendly and prides herself on the relationships that she is able to make with the students. She is able to make connections with them, where they then feel comfortable to come and speak with her in any circumstance.
Erin is married and has two amazing boys, Tony Jr. and Gavin. She loves her family and would do anything for them. In her spare time, Erin loves spending time with her family and doing arts and crafts, going to the movies and watch her children play sports.  


Krysta Tewksbury

Private Training Coordinator & High School Program Registrar Assistant

Krysta Tewksbury began working at the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center in the Spring of 2021. She currently works as a Private Training Coordinator & High School Program Registrar Assistant. 

She creates and maintains relationships with contractors looking to facilitate continuing education for their organizations as well as students, their parents, instructors, and the faculty of High Schools/Organizations all over Long Island & Queens; such as Walter G O'Connell Copiague High School, Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District, Holy Cross High School, Seaford High School, Westbury High School, and the Transportation Workers Union Local 100. She takes great pleasure in helping out in any way that she possibly can and loves to learn and experience new things in the workplace. 

Krysta graduated from Farmingdale State College in the Spring of 2022 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. During her college career, she had the absolute pleasure of interning at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, FL three times as a Food and Beverage Hostess, Merchandiser, and Custodian. She prides herself on the exceptional guest service skills she has taken away from her experiences as well as the lifelong friendships she made along the way.

Before coming to the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center, Krysta served as a retail manager for 5+ years at Party City, where she honed in her customer service, scheduling, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced work environment. Being able to help people to celebrate their life accomplishments and share in their excitement helped her to learn a lot about bringing empathy into the workplace.

In her free time, Krysta enjoys playing video games, traveling with her friends, and crafting.



Krystal Castro

Administrative Assistant to the Director

Krystal started working with her mom at the age of 13. They both did house maintenance. She would work with her mom on weekends. After that, she started working at Five Guys at the age of 15 while in high school.
In 2018, she graduated from Bay Shore Senior High School and started working towards her Associates Degree at Suffolk Community College in both the Selden campus and the Brentwood campus. She is still working on her associate degree, as she only needs 2 more semesters to graduate. During this time, she then got promoted as Assistant Manager at Five Guys, where she excelled at data entry, leading her staff and making sure customers got the best customer service. 
Shortly after leaving the fast food industry, she started a Sales and Marketing position for Power, where she received some marketing skills. After realizing that marketing and sales was not her ideal career choice, she then started in the administrative field. She worked for an agency where she would work temporary positions to gain administrative experience. Before getting hired at the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center, she was an IT temp at ProCare LTC. There she received knowledge on computers and information technology. She started at the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center in August of 2021.


John Anthony Ferrara

Finance Assistant 

John Anthony Ferrara better known as JA has been working for the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center since June of 2022. He started in admissions and then moved into the Finance Department. His background includes being a member of IBEW Local Union Number 3 as an Electrician since 2016. While working as an electrician JA went to college in the late afternoons. He graduated from SUNY Farmingdale with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Along his journey, JA found a passion for finances and quickly became a Senior Associate of an Insurance and Investment firm. He discovered how financial literacy can be a household or a company’s biggest asset. With these experiences, John Anthony now handles the finances of the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center. His fiduciary duty assures the school and the students are properly taken care of from a financial standpoint.   

Alayna Carroll

Administrative Assistant 

Alayna joined the Electrical Training Center in May 2023. As a Registrar Assistant and Evening Front Desk Receptionist, her role involves handling student course registrations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and providing administrative support. She not only manages the front desk during evening hours but also takes on responsibilities related to invoicing and various payments. She always strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for both the students and fellow staff members around her! Before this role, she had worked in various retail jobs since the age of 15 such as Zumiez, Journeys & Ulta Beauty. She is a certified makeup artist and loves to practice and experiment with different styles of makeup in her spare time.

Outside of ETC, Alayna loves spending time with her two pets Lily and Rexy, watching anime, going to concerts, playing video games, and spending time with the people she loves.

Stephanie Kinberg

Career Services Assistant

Stephanie began her journey at the Electrical and HVAC Training Center in January 2023. She graduated from SUNY Old Westbury with her Bachelors Degree in Communications and Media. Her credits include journaling for FM Hip Hop and content creating for Happy Productions. As a journalist Stephanie founded her own Production Company and Podcast in which she not only strives for success, but for her work to influence all that see’s. Stephanie’s talents include singing, songwriting, video/audio editing, investigative reporting, resin creation and more.

Stephanie’s role in the Electrical and HVAC Training Center as a Career Service/ Marketing Assistant includes editing resumes, following up with current and past students regarding job placement, video creation, and success stories for the school’s social media as well as other responsibilities. Stephanie is proud of each student’s success and the relationship’s she’s built and continues to build with each one of them.
