How to Become an Electrical or HVAC/R Instructor

Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center instructors are required to obtain their New York State Department of Education Bureau of Propretary School Supervision (BPSS) Teacher License.
• A high school or college diploma
• Applicable credentials and trade-related certifications and/or licenses
• A resume
• A letter from previous or current employer on company letterhead citing dates employed; job title; job description and duties; and supervisor.
• For individuals self-employed, you may compose an affidavit citing the name of your business, date founded to present date or date business closed; job title; job description and duties. This affidavit needs to include a section for a NYS Notary Jurat & must be signed by a notary. Currently ETC has two notary publics on staff.
• Criminal background court documents if applicable
• Previously held NYS BPSS Licenses if applicable
• NYS BPSS approved Teacher Certification course completions if applicable.
• Select the area of instruction – multiple areas of instruction require multiple licenses and you must complete another license application for each area of instruction. Each license application will require the application fee.

The atmosphere is a student focus environment. Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center knows that you can achieve what you set your mind to when you plan and prepare. Knowledge Is Power. The proof is shown by our great faculty and staff, and students.
Guidance is provided to our students throughout their time on Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center campus, and when they transition into the field.
Our instructors have a very important role to help develop the next generation of skill technicians. The classroom management and expectations enforce and used by instructors help students achieve their goals to join the Electrical and HVAC/R industry.
All programs are Monday through Friday.
